my ds had it at about 6 months old after his big sister kindly passed it to him.

Posey · 01/12/2008 21:37

My ds had it at 15 months, catching it from his sister who was then 8. He had it really badly, far worse than dd.

Don't think you will get it if you are in contact. My friends dd is now 11 and still hasn't had it despite being exposed to it and being in close contact with those that were infectious.

Posey · 01/12/2008 21:38

Meant don't think you will necessarily get it...

dd2 - 15 months, currently has it thanks to her big sister. Like your ds bumbly, she has them everywhere, eyelids, lips, genital area, anus and it's impossible to stop her from scratching!

DoubleBluff · 01/12/2008 21:52

DS2 was plastered and has some big scars on his body, but luckily not on his face. chickenpox is awful, they vaccinaete against it in som countries, wish they did here.

bumbly - he only has one scar which is on his chest. He was really covered, everywhere, and used to wriggle around on the carpet trying to ease the itching. He spent half the time in tepid baths!

girlandboy · 01/12/2008 22:02

Ds got it at 10 months.

Absolutely covered with it, but only got one scar in the corner of his eye.

I got it when I was 25 and I've ended up with more scars than the dc's!

girliefriend · 01/12/2008 22:03

My dd had it at about same age and was totally covered. At least it is over and done with! Invest in a paint brush and calamine lotion and paint the spots - my dd loved me doing this and def helped with the itching! It is really difficult not to accidently rub them off before they are ready, even rubbing dd after a bath meant she has a few scars on her front. xX
