Dropping centiles but.........just reassure me please

DS is 10.5 months old. I last weighed him 3 months ago and he was 8.8kg (just below 50th centile). Yesterday when I weighed him (same scales etc) he was still the same weight and now just below 25th centile. I am a child health care professional and use these charts frequently but it's different when it's your own.....so, I think the reason for this static weight is because in the last 3 months, DS has gone from slow commando-style crawling, to proper crawling, to cruising around the furniture. He is always on the go and very active. He will eat anything and everything we give him (BLW, still has 20-ish ounces of milk per day, 3 meals with pudding and snacks in between. My advice to myself is just to monitor and hopefully he will gain weight along the 25th centile from now on - would you agree? He is a happy, healthy little boy and I suppose i just need a bit of reassurance that what I'm doing is right?

I think those things do more harm than good. I've given up weighing DS as it caused me too much worry. If you look at him and he looks normal, happy and healthy then I'm sure he is. You are right, he is probably losing a little chubbiness because he's so active.

both of my children dropped from the 75th to the 9th centile. Don't worry too much about it, agree these charts add to worries. As long as your baby is happy and alert, that's the main thing.

Another one here whose DS dropped from a chubby baby to a lean wee thing when he got active - I'm sure you'll know yourself if he seems healthy and active, and in another 3 months he'll no doubt be gaining weight again on a new line.

My DS was born on the 50th percentile and went along it steadily until he became active - he is now on the 2nd. Eats loads, does loads, i very happy but is a small boy (he is now 3 years old).

Thank you everyone for the reassurances. I worry that sometimes I am too blase/laid back about certain issues as I work in child health. Think I need to take my own professional advice! Thanks again all.

I do not atten clinics nor weigh my son. My DS2 is heavier that some 2 years olds but is still only on the breast.

All the screening and tests and landmark stuff is just cause for worry.

We give birth to individuals not cattle.

DS was born on the 2nd and he has now dropped off . But he's on the 50th for length

At my request, we were referred to a Padiatrician, who says that DS is healthy...
