ive got a 18month old girl and she suffers from constapation.she is on med for it she as gone of her food she will not eat a proper meal at all she will only eat chrisps etc

Do you mind me asking what medicine she is on for it?

And is she drinking much fluid?

A diet of mainly crisps etc might be making it worse not better.

Having constipation for a while can weaken the intestinal muscles temporarily, thats why they prescribe the meds to give the muscles a chance to heal.

After that though you really need to look at her diet. If she is prone to constipation she needs lots of fluid in her diet and lots of fibre - esp fruit and veg and whole grains.

You need to avoid too many fatty processed foods and too much sugar - these can be triggers.

And make sure she drinks lots and lots of water and gets exercise every day - both these things keep the bowels moving well.
