Should i take dd2 back to the GP

Dd2 has had a cough/cold and last week the GP gave her antibiotics, after a day or 2 dd2 got a poorly tummy from the antibiotics so i took her off them. I was a bit stupid and did not contact the Gp as i thought the cough would go on its own as it seemed like a virus (not an infection).

Anyway this morning she has been coughing alot more and its not a loose cough like it was a few days ago. She seems fine in herself.

Should i take her back to the GP for more antibiotics?

Hi Marne. I would take her back to the GP just in case; put your mind at rest. You may well have been right re antibiotics, but it's worth checking. I have just been to the Dr for my DS and feel SO much better for doing so.

took her to the gp, he told me to give her Tixylix as she seemed ok apart from the cough. This morning she is worse and has a temp of 39, she still coughing but a bit looser than yesterday. Im tempted to take her back today as she seems poorly (didn't eat breakfast).

Aw, bless her. When I went to the GP re my DS he said there is a virus going round that is effecting the throat and lots of young children are suffering. Should last 5-7 days and symptoms may include high temp, dribbling, ear pain. He told me to come back if he gets too ill as it can turn into tonsillitis for which he can give antibiotics. Don't know if that helps... have you been back yet? Don't forget you can bug the Dr as much as you like, you pay his wages
