Teething remedies

Hi - what remedies have people found useful for teething? And how long does it last? Poor DS is only 4 months but has started with first tooth and is intermittently really miserable . I don't really believe in homeopathy, but does anyone have positive experiences of the homeopathic stuff? And what's best to chew on? (other than my knuckle, which he gnaws on hopefully but then just wails again!).

nelsons teetha powders are brilliant.

my baby insisted on sleeping cheek to cheek with me when he was teething (and we don't even co sleep) very cute but tiring, he just held my face next to his.

oh and frozen milk lollies. at that age you'll have to hold it for him though.

also cubes of frozen milk or water. i used to put ice cubes in DS milk and water/juice aswell.

DS liked to chew on a baby toothbrush too. Those ones that you put on your finger to massage the gums are good for encouraging the tooth to break through.

I was looking for one of those, but haven't found them so far - do Boots do them?

Hyland's teething tablets and teething gel. A lifesaver. They are homeopathic.

And co sleeping and using a sling really helped settle DS when he was teething.
