I am sure it is a bug, but DD very poorly, sick, high temp, sleepy. At what point do I worry or take her to the Doctor

DD was sick all night and has slept on and off allday. She has got a temp of 39 and is very listless. She said her legs hurt earlier and hands and feet are cold.

All symptoms of a bug/virus but you can't help worrying can you? Should I just call a doctor? On my own and swaying between thinking I am an over protective mother and actually being a bit worried.

I would definatly get her seen by a doctor.

GColdtimer · 21/11/2008 13:51

That was my thought tbh, I think I just needed someone else to tell me!

Why do they always do this on Fridays?!?

IllegallyBrunette · 21/11/2008 13:53

If it was just the sickess or just the temp then i'd probably say to see how she went, but with her having a temp and sickness etc, getting her seen by a doctor sounds good to me.

Hope she is better soon.

Better safe than sorry with those symptoms I think. She's probably listless because she hasn't had much sleep and is wiped out from all the vomitting but I don't like the sound of her legs hurting and hands and feet being cold. How old is she?

thenewme · 21/11/2008 13:54

I would definitely take her to the doctor.

Any rashes?

GColdtimer · 21/11/2008 14:09

No, no rashes. thankseveryone, will pop her along I think. prob get there and she will be running riot making me out a complete panicker!

sorry typingone handed she is now having a cuddle.

How long has it been until she has had any liquid?

thenewme · 21/11/2008 14:32

Since, not until!

GColdtimer · 21/11/2008 14:58

She has been sipping every time she stirs, but only sipping. I can't persuade her to have any more than that. She is a bit brighter now and has said her legs don't hurt anymore. Hands and feet are now warm. Have spoken to the Doctor who said to take her along to surgery later if there is no improvement so will do that.

Bless her, she just looks so sorry for herself.
