5yo booked in for monday, she has had an abcess on baby molar but still has some pain so dentist is sending her for the extraction.Dh wants a second opinion , I'm saying why?
They don't wnat to do root canal on a child so young, distressing with needles etc, so should I bother getting 2nd opinion?

ds(7) had some out under sedation. i was given them and they were very badly decayed under the gum line and could have made him very ill

Did he have a problem with crowding after that?
Dentist mentioned something about a spacer?
He was very vague and annoying.

DS1 had one taken out under GA when he was 3 1/2, recurring abscess after he broke a front tooth by surfing down the stairs face first. I had the option of doing the GA with a mask or a needle, and went for the IV. it was fine, he was a bit drowsy afterwards for a couple of hours but that's all.

not so far but the dentist said we'll have to monitor it and he'll probably need braces earlier than usual

i wouldn't imagine that one tooth would be much trouble re overcrowding
