How soon does a UTI respond to treatment?

DD age 7 was diagnosed with a UTI on friday, previous to that she had a stomach bug. She started antibiotics on friday and her fever has gone. DD still feels sick and despite eating on sunday and yesterday she has lost her appetite again. Are her antibiotics not working or does she just need more recovery time?

I'd take her back to the GP if she is no better in the morning. Try and take a sample if you can. She may just need different antibiotics.

She must be feeling miserable.

I think they reckon on 2 days (which would correspond to her fever dropping). She may well be just wiped out from the effect of the ABs (which are likely to make her feel sick) and the previous stomach bug.

However, the doctor should really send a urine sample off in any case to make sure it's gone.
