conjunctivitis...what to do

Do you send a child to school with conjunctivitis? My ds is fine apart from his eye but I am not sure what to do.

no, absolutely not. it's very contagious

Can I also ask if any of you have any advice for how to care for it. He goes mad when we try to put the eye drops in and won't let us clean it.

i took ds to doctors on fri with a watery crusty eye that had been going on for 4 days. no pain. dr said it was conjunctivitis, no treatment, said to maintain hygiene but didn't say anything about keeping him off school...it hadn't occurred to me to ask.
