I took my DS, 8 months, in to the GP this morning for what I thought was bronchiolitis (I've been following the other thread). GP said it was a chest infection and gave us a course of amoxycillin (sp?) which we've started and will have our 3rd dose tonight before bed. Any idea how long it should be before I see an improvement? He was and still is super congested but he's eating well and I've tried to increase the number of bfeeds to keep his liquid intake up.

about 2 days normally before you start to see improvement

SoupDragon · 14/11/2008 17:41

About 24-48 hours.

Its usually 48 hours until you see an improvement. He should start to seem a bit better by tomorrow lunchtime. If he doesn't seem better by Monday I would take him back to GP again.

Hope your DS is better soon and that he has a better night tonight.

Thanks for the quick replies. I'm just really impatient, I guess. If I don't see some improvement by Monday, it's back to the GP.
