Hi,

I'm trying to find out more about myself from experiences I had as a baby.

In a nutshell:

My mum was advised to let me cry it out when I was about 1 week old as she was living in a dormitory in a womens hostel. She was worried my crying would wake the other women as she was the only one with a baby.

It worked very well at the time and she said I never cried again.

I can find some info on the web about the detachment and anxiety, etc

but I haven't managed to pin down what the key 'term' is for a baby who has lost all trust and grows up from this point.

Thanks

You may want to look at the work of Kate Cairns, who works in the area of traunatised children- particularly around attachement issues.
