Chicken pox again! - trying to avoid infected spots

Thanks to those who correctly diagnosed chicken pox in my 18mo yesterday morning!

No question at all that he has it - and now I need advice on what to do about the spots in his nappy area please.

He has lots of spots / blisters coming up in the creases around his legs, and one massive blister at the top of his bum which has now burst but not crusted. He has got quite loose poo as well with some really awful nappies over the last 24 hours so I am worried about the spots getting infected before they scab over. Any bright ideas or past experience would be very gratefully received please.

Perhaps talk to your pharmacist, often they see any more Mums and have better advice than the doc. We were given a cream/emollient based callomine (sp?) that did not dry out like a lotion and acted more as a barrier cream. Do you have a good independent pharmacy where they take a good interest?

thanks BBF - good idea, have a great pharmacy at the end of the road, will ask there tomorrow.

Try and keep his nappy off as much as poss. as warmth makes the itch worse, particularly at night.
