5 month old and dirty nappies. Help !

my 5 month old had managed 9 dirty nappies today and 5 yesterday. She is normally really regular and goes just once a day. She is also refusing food and beind sick quite a lot. At what point do I worry that she may dehydrate ? She is also being quite clingy. Anyone have any ideas ? I bought some fluid replacement stuff but dont know whether to try it or not

Can you ring NHS Direct and ask them for advice? I found that DS had far more dirty nappies than usual when he was teething, although he was never sick.

Personally I would always seek medical advice with a baby, particularly where they seem out of sorts. I don't want to worry you but it the medical professionals have always told me to err on the side of caution.

Just re-read the bit about refusing food and being clingy. I do think you ought to ring NHS Direct or your out of hours GP.

sounds like she has a nasty bug and suggest you do as llaregub suggests, these sort of things can make a young baby deteriorate quickly, especially if refusing food and drink
