my 7 month old baby is very wheezy and chesty this morning. Any ideas on the best way to help him (he can cough to clear the mucus so not too bad but would like some help with anything I could get to decongest him.)

Try sitting in the bathroom and getting it as steaming as poss, turn shower and taps on. Steam really does help.

I got a herbal remedy from my herbalist which worked a dream on my chesty, asthmatic toddler. A few drops into whatever they are drinking. Not sure if it's suitable for baby so young but herbalist will tell you.

Agree with memoo about steam - we used to put bowl of hot water with or without couple of drops of eucaplytus in bedroom at night. Also raised top cot legs onto couple of large books so he was sleeping "donwhill" a bit.

aw, feel for you. my 4mth old is on the second bout of bronchiolitis and is coughing so hard, he is crying tears

Anyway, hospital mainly suggested saline drops for the nose, calpol (if diagnosed vwith infection - and if coughing is hurting) and feeding little and often.

Is hell, though. And my dd 2.5 is suffering too (though is on antibiotics for chest infection)
