Supplements for nearly 2 year old?? Any thoughts?

My DS is in nursery so of course expected him to catch everything going around, however he does seem to get more than his fair share of coughs, sore throats and heavy colds.
He is a great eater and gets loads of fruit, veggies etc so was wondering if there would be any merit in considering a supplement, given that I'm fairly sure his diet is good.
I should add that he was pre-term and was prescribed vitamins and iron for his whole first year but we were instructed to finish these when he turned one.

Any thought/ideas would be much appreciated.

You could try Abidec vitamin syrup but if he's having a good diet he probably doesn't need it. All kids catch colds all the time - an average of ten a year esp at this time of year. Are you sure he's getting more than this? If not, he's just normal!

With a good diet, it is probably a waste of time and money.
Nurseries are total petri dishes of germs. He sounds normal.

Thanks for your thoughts. Just feeling sorry for him at the mo'. He coughed so hard the other night that he was physically sick. Poor wee thing.
Hopefully he will have a superb immune system in a few years as a result.
