stop breathing whilst being tickled?

my son is 10 and the other day i was tickling him under the armpits just for a few seconds and he stopped breathing ,his lips went bluish and i had to shout at him to calm down and to breathe through his nose .has this happened to any one else it really freaked us both out???

That must have been scary.

I've heard of it before I think but in younger children.

Has he ever had a problem with breath holding or stopping breathing while tantrumming when younger or anything like that?

It would probably be worth a trip to the doctors.

was it like he was breathing in and just stopped? like a switch? goes floppy/passes out then starts breathing again.

i think he just forgot how to breathe it was scary do you really think it was worth a trip to gp . i wont tickle him ever again. he didnt go all floppy or pass out he just knelt on the floor rigid with fear

Maybe you should get it checked out. What if it happens at a friends house or something.
Has he been i'll at all in the last couple of months? A bad case of d&v? Does he eat well, plenty of red meat and green veg? Does he look pale at all, generally?

he doesnt have a good diet very fussy no fruit or veg apart from tomato pasta.why do you ask ?

i have that kind of condition... every time my husband tickles me i find it hard to breath and my lips turns bluish...

Had experience tickled by my sibling as a sister for 24hr straight & passing out on memorial day & has been awhile
