Hello,
Am a new mum of LT who is now 5 months old. She is exclusively breastfed at the moment but has had watery green and smelly diarrhoea for the last 2 and a half weeks.
Her behaviour seems normal: happy and full of beans, eating well and doesn't appear to be dehydrated
Last week the doctor said it's gastroenteritis and that because of that she has developed a (I'm assuming) temporary lactose intolerance until she has enough of good bacteria in her system again.
Although she's seems fine (and could be teething) has anyone else come across this and how long do you think it will go on for?

Thank you!

Have you tried contacting your local NCT breastfeeding counsellor? She might have experience of this or know where to look for information, and she has the resources of NCT HQ too.

Other than that, I'm afraid I can't help much, as I never managed to carry on breastfeeding that long.

I hope that LT feels better soon.

If your daughter is taking too much fore milk and not enough hind milk this can cause green poo. Is it very frequent?
