clicky hip in a 2 year old - just started

My ds is just 2 and has recently started clicking his left hip. It didn't do it before but I have noticed that when he is relaxing on the sofa with his bedtime milk he flops his bent leg up and down (like you might for a smear test -sorry couldn't think of another way to describe it) and there is a horrid clicking sound each time he does it! Otherwise he seems perfectly fine - walking and running about, no limping or anything. I went online to search for the symptoms (I should be banned from doing that - it freaks me out )and horrible things came up! I am now, as I said, freaking out!

Should I be worried about this - has anyone else suddenly had a clicky hipped toddler?

Its probably nothing but I would suggest that you see GP for review. ( don't worry)

I had the same problem with my DD - you could really hear her hip when she was climbing the stairs. Saw GP - referred to Orthopaedic Consultant and xrayed - no problem found and she is now 8 years and running around.
