DD-4yrs old has complained of tummyache for last two hours. She has had a poo today. It could be too many halloween sweeties. Can I give calpol do you think? I dont usually give for tummy things and they usually resolve quite quickly into full blown throwing up or just going for a poo.

I wouldn't normally bother for upset type tummyache things. I don't take paracetamol when I have an upset tummy.

BUT my DTDs do suffer from something which gives them swollen abdo glands whenever they have other viral infections. It causes them sevre pain. In this instance I do give ibuprofen as it can relieve the swelling and pain.
