any miracle recommendations for 7mo dd teething. She's been waking 3 or 4 times in the middle of the night, and is really grumpy during the day. Have tried kalpol and teething powder.. Any miracles you may recommend? PLEASE>>>>>>>>>>>>

Infant ibuprofen was better for dd than calpol. She also liked a chewy liquid-filled teething ring. My niece really liked to chew celery and cucumber from the fridge, and I've also heard that a wetted then frozen washcloth is good for them to chew. It's not fun, though...

Cold carrot and apple help. They also knaw the gum and help the tooth come through.

I use Anbesol liquid. It's got a local anaesthetic in it which numbs the gums. DD has only ever been upset from teething at night, in the day she was too distracted. I used to use calpol and Ashton and Parson's but she's getting her eye teeth at the moment and they just weren't cutting it. Anbesol and ibuprofen are working quite well atm.

My doc has just prescribed my 8 month son some Medised, FANTASTIC stuff. He was waking up every hour, screaming, now he sleeps through with one dose of the stuff!!

chocsauce · 04/11/2008 15:14

do you give it to him often?

nappyaddict · 04/11/2008 15:23

have you tried calpol and nurofen alternated throughout the day? also anbesol.

Anbesol does it for us. Just be careful how you asked for it over the counter, sounds a bit like Anusol to the untrained ear .

Cold carrot sticks (large ones, that can be grasped easily) have proved a total winner for my 9mo dd at the moment Good luck - the whole teething thing really isn't much fun...

cold cucumber sticks also vg

Hyland's teething tablets (homeopathic). They work wonders!!! Can also get Hyland's teething gel. Not chemical like Anbesol.
