Should I wake DD, who has a temperature and has been having diarrhoea, just to give her water?

She has been ill for a week, was told by the doctor on Saturday that she should be getting better soon, and today has just been so subdues, hardly eaten anything, has drunk water off and on, but has now gone to bed (at 3.30 pm) and is still asleep. Should I just leave her to wake up from thirst? She is normally so perky, almost never ill apart from colds, so I am a bit of a novice with sick kids. Thanks.

i'm a firm believer in sleep as a healer.

Let her sleep.

That was my first instinct too, DP is (rather selfishly?) saying she will just wake up in the middle of the night hungry. I think let sleeping sick people lie.

I cannot imagine she will want to eat anything, she had no appetite today at all.
