dd 's seemed to be improving over the summer but since has got angry and more have emerged, some now quite nasty looking with eczema like patches. She has some spots above her hip and in the crook of her elbow, and is due to be a bridesmaid before Christmas so likely to be on view . Action required - please help !

My 3 DC have all had them. I didn't follow advice to squeeze the spots when my DSs had them. I did with DD and they went straightaway. They were very angry looking when I did this.

my ds2 has finally 'outgrown ' his molluscum after 2 years. I squeezed ds1's molluscum and thought it had gone, but noticed tht a month later it has come back

Blossomhill · 19/10/2008 17:33

Elizabeth Arden 8 hr cream got rid of my dd's within a few days!

Walkthedinosaur · 19/10/2008 17:36

When my son's were clearing up after he had had them for two years, they went very red and weepy and were quite nasty looking for about three weeks.

mumhadenough · 19/10/2008 20:44

My son's have just disappeared after three years, 8 hour cream did nothing I'm afraid and there was no way he would let me squeeze them.

Like Walkthedinosaur says his ended up looking quite nasty for a few weeks before they disappeared for good. I don't know if he'd been picking at them himself right enough.

I thought molluscum was a virus which was particularly prevalent in kids with eczema as it was easier for it to enter bloodstream with scratching at it.

At least that's what the specialist told me. So how come the 8 hour cream gerts rid?

DevilishDisasterArea · 19/10/2008 21:30

epilate them. tis the only thing that did for mine but was ver p[ainful.
have heard homeopathey helps

childrenofthecornsilk · 19/10/2008 21:31

yes I don't get why 8 hour cream gets rid either.

fizzbuzz · 19/10/2008 21:41

I was also told it lasted up to 3 years, so you may appear to get rid of it, but as it is a virus it will re-appear until it has run it's course....

Waiting was the only treatment offered by specialsit.....

bramblebooks · 19/10/2008 21:51

I also used the homeopathic silver spray on my ds2 - must look it out for ds1.

Although I think that ds2 getting insulin for his newly diagnosed diabetes gave him a boost and helped his body recover from molluscum too .. !

EA cream is £20 - sorry too extravagant for a maybe/maybe not. Boots' pharmacist could n't suggest anything specific

blueskyandsunshine · 31/10/2008 17:20

COMFREY CREAM can't beat it
