4mo with cough and sometimes gags??

Hi, my dd is 4mo and had a bad cold about 3/4 weeks ago. Since then she has had a cough - Its almost like she has something in her throat and coughs 4/5 times every hour or so. Sometimes she will gag and looks like she is choking.

I have tried Tixilix for babies with dry coughs but it hasnt done anything. She is still chatting and laughing but wondered if its worth taking her to my GP or if its just from her cold. Thanks.

Hi laurs, sounds like flem but has been a while since her cold, I would take her to the docs, but as its the weekend and probably not open nip into the chemists tomorrow. Boots have a little advisory booth now (the larger ones) and they can do a little consult, they will be able to put your mind at rest and suggest what you need to do, it could be an allergy maybe, milk can cause flem build up (thats jsut a very wild thought!).

Hope your dd will be ok and you could try tipping the head of her cot, put a book under each leg so it just lifts a little this will help with the build up stop it setteling so high so she can breath easier, and you can sleep easier.
