OK bit flippant title but seriously, I know they play with their bits but ds (11 months) pulls at his so hard it seems to triple in length.
And his little face is all squished up as if it's causing him real discomfort.
It doesn't appear to warrant this attack i.e. it doesn't look sore until he starts fiddling.
He can scratch and fiddle so much it then ends up red and sore and even bleeding.
This can't be right can it?
Anyone know what could be wrong?

Take him to the GP. It should certainly not be bleeding.

nobodysghoul · 16/10/2008 22:29

He is a male.
That's what they do even from an early age.
My ds (3) went through a stage of wrapping his willy around his finger and saying "look at my snail".

pulling is normal th bizarre

bleeding is not- i have 4 boys, never a bleed

see a gp tomorrow

ScummyMummy · 16/10/2008 22:31

He should be playing with it because it feels nice. It shouldn't be bleeding.

Nothings wrong its just that he's mauling it about so much its getting sore, sometimes the tiny piece of skin that attaches the foreskin to the glans can be torn a bit which would account for the bleeding.
It obviously feels nice to him at first thats why he does it all the time but he's not able to control what he does!!

Rowlers · 16/10/2008 22:34

Yes that's what I thought
He certainly starts off looking as if it feels nice but ends up clearly not!
Will contact gp tomorrow

Well I keep his nails trimmed well but he's a baby - he doesn't sit there patiently waiting for me to manicure him perfectly so could easily be the case that nails are a bit sharp in places.
Does he need more nappy off time was another thought I had
I did wonder if his bits were perhaps getting too hot?
