Central heating - every year this happens

Every year when we put the central heating on for the first time, DS2 (6) gets a wheezy cough and his eczema comes back again. I suppose it's the increased dryness of the air, but it seems odd, as we haven't even had it on very much. Any ideas what I can do, if anything?

put some bowls of water around to increase the humidity ?

keep the heating on all year round like us!

Invest in a humidifier, keep it in whatever room you use/heat the most during the day then put it in ds's room at night. Works for us, same problem

I think we'll try that Elibean. The problem with bowls of water is that he just tips them up!
