Impetigo-help!

My son had impetigo (sp?) during half term in May so he was treated for it then and didn't need time off as he wasn't in contact with other children. I noticed today that he has a red, sore patch in exactly the same place under his mouth again and think I should take him to the doctor tomorrow to get it checked out. Just wondered what the guidelines are regarding going to school as he's now in reception. I'm not sure if I should take him in the morning, assuming I may not be able to get an appointment until the afternoon. I'm completely ashamed and mortified by the way as we don't live in a filthy, un-hygenic house! Are some kids just more prone to it than others?

Thanks!

NO SCHOOL! Keep him off until he see's the doctor, just incase.

I think if it's under clothing he can go to school, but as it's on his face, you should keep him at home as it's increadibly infectious.

Don't be ashamed - anyone can get it!

don't be ashamed - theres loads of it about and its just a bacterial infection - you wouldnt be ashamed if he had a throat infection! If you think it is though then keep him off til hes seen a doctor.
