Hard tummy in 1 year old...

My 1 year old daughter has recently recovered after a couple of tummy bugs caught from nursery. She knows seems to have quite a hard tummy although nappies are all normal now and plenty of them, both wet and dirty.

She has just started to get into cows milk: have been trying to introduce it over past few weeks and initially wasn't interested but now loves it and has about a pint a day inc a breastfeed before bed.

What can it mean if their tummies are hard??

TIA

Does she seem to be in pain? When you say her nappies are normal is she passing solid poo or runny? If runny she could be constipated with overflow (poo runs round the side of the constipation).

Is she eating well? Drinking plenty?

It's not runny but quite soft IYSWIM. As in not a solid lump (TMI)

Seems fine in herself...

I wouldn't worry too much. If it's the same in the morning you could ring your HV if your really worried.

DS used to get a pot belly at the end of the day at that age by the morning it had gone again! Then it was ready to fill with food again

Thankyou!

Not too worried-never felt it under normal circ so not sure how it feels normally...
