New tummy bug??

Hi, my 4 year old has been complaining of a tummy ache and has had very watery poo for a few days now. No other symptom though, temp is fine, she's eating and drinking like a trooper. She's not had a tummy bug before, so I have got a lack of experience, but I'd have thought there would be more to it than just a tummy ache?
She's due back in nursery tomorrow and I don't know whether I should keep her off - any advice??

Definitely keep her off and take her to the docs - you cannot rule out something just because of a lack of symptoms.

My DD1 had these exact symptoms and it turned out she had cryptosporidium - a very infectious, untreatable and reportable disease. It was her first tummy bug too. Not saying your DD could have the same just that you need to get it checked out because sometimes that is the only symptom you can have even with something communicable.

I never know if I'm worrying too much or not enough -arghhh

Same here! It was 4 days before I took DD1 to the docs with her symptoms - when we got the test results back I was quite shocked.

I always err on the side of caution with regards to nursery though - they take them from 6 months and there are some children with other health problems who would suffer far worse than my DD if they caught the same bug .

Hope your DD gets better soon
