Vertical nail ridges on 12month old

HI

My little girl has ridges on her nails, they are quite prominent - is this an indication there is an underlying problem?

She has a very healthy diet but does suffer from constipation on and off.

Thanks

No, lengthwise is fine. It's when they go acrss the nail that could be a sign of a problem, because it would mean that the nail isn't growing at a uniform rate.

Just thought I'd bump this up as my 12 month old also has ridges on her nails. Her diet isn't great as she has been refusing all green veg except for peas for a while now. I'm worried that she may have some sort of deficiency.
Any thoughts anyone?

Hm, both of mine (10 months and 2.1) have horizontal ridges on their toenails... yikes, didnt' realise it was a bad sign! Might have to post a separate thread about it so I don't hijack this one any more.
