Meningitis C vaccination

When I took ds2 for pre school vaccinations I was told he needed menC in addition to usual boosters (having checked his health records at the surgery). When I looked up his record at home, he had already had it as a baby. Does anyone know if this is usual? I thought children only needed one MenC vaccination, not a booster, and could there be any side effects from a double dose? Thanks.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
