it may look a lot, but really, it isn;t......promise
my DH has very frequent nosebleeds (and he has had his nose cauterised too!), and he often says his is to 'release' blood[hmm. not sure myself, but he seems ok with this explaination!
DD2 and DD3 and also DS2 suffr from them aswell (as does MIL in fact, suggesting a familial connection), and for them it is allergy related. and high weather pressure triggers them too for some reason....
oh, and with DD3, she gets them either at the beginning of being poorly, or at the end.....so if she is brewing a cold, she will have several in the week previous to that.
the doc has never been overly concerned...they did cauterise DD2 (three times now in fact), as hers are gushers and they scare her.....she still getss them, but mild ones now, and always triggered by hayfever.
you can get special cream to apply, helps with the soreness, but if he is unconcerned for now just keep him rested.
as for foods.....you can try if you feel better for it. beans on toast is good for iron, especially with a burger on the side (good tip from my fab health visitor). and of course bolognaise. dark choc is quite good for iron intake....and quite yummy if you like that sort of thing. oh, and orange juice with whatever foods help absorb the iron.
HTH, and try not to fret
