Ongoing fevers since starting school

My DS age 5 started reception this September. Previously he was in nursery 3 days a week since age 2.5

He has had a fever (usually low grade, around 38) on at least one school day on 5 out of the 7 weeks.

He’s had a cough/cold the past two weeks so it’s not as if he is having completely asymptomatic fevers , in which case I would be a lot more concerned

I guess I’m just asking if it’s normal to have so many days of fever when starting school? We are going through so much calpol ! He’s mostly happy enough in himself , not losing weight or moping about on sofa

He’s now encountering a new group of germs so sounds normal. Try sambucol? I give this to my kids and it seems to shorten their cold where they used to run on for weeks.

Yes as it’s a new set of germs! Mine got chicken pox not long after they’d started. 😩

You don’t have to give calpol for a temperature, unless he’s miserable or feeling rotten.
