Best nit comb recommendations - nitty gritty or nitnot?

Evening all

My daughter is in reception and a mum has let us know on our WhatsApp group their daughter has headlice. My daughter hasn’t got it yet from what I can tell but trying to prepare for the inevitable.

Which is the best bit comb? Or are they much of a muchness? I’m planning to do the conditioner method as my daughter has incredibly sensitive skin and reacts to a lot of products. (Although if I catch it too I may well be trying a treatment so any recommendations for them are also welcome). So yeah, trying to find out which comb people recommend.

She’s my only child so this is uncharted territory for me and I’m dreading it so any tips more than welcome!

Don't treat unless you see lice, pointless otherwise. Just keep her hair tied well back/braided. They can't jump so only spread via hair contact which is mitigated if hair is kept back.
Combs are all much of a muchness. If you're going to get a treatment as a stand by. Don't scrimp on a home bargains one. 😭🤣

The nitty gritty comb is by far the best comb!

Thank you for the tips - braids it is for the foreseeable! Yeah I’m not putting myself through the pain of treating until I see one.

This is the one I see come up the most but because the nitnot comes with 2 types of comb I didn’t know if it would be better? Think I’m going to go with nitty gritty though purely as I keep seeing it when researching

I would do a bun and spray lots of hairspray! Nitty gritty comb is really good. I would but a treatment to have in just in case

Nitty Gritty. I was lucky in a way as dd reacts badly to them so she was red and itchy when there were only a handful of lice too small to see with the naked eye.
As soon as she was itchy I would comb with conditioner, wipe onto tissue and look with a magnifying glass. What looked like minute specs of grit or dust were lice. It happened twice, and because I got them so early, right after hatching, I got rid of them very quickly. So I would conditioner comb her hair when you shampoo it and just check. Get a magnifying glass and look at her scalp every now and again, especially around the nape and ears.
Keep hair tied back or plaited, and I also used a repellent spray which seemed to work, but obviously no way of knowing really.
