Non blanching spots

Does anyone else have recurring non blanching spots? My 2.5 year old son has been having episodes of non blanching spots and rashes for the last 4/5 months, always tiny red pinpricks. Never a huge area and each time we’ve taken him to a&e to be told he’s all fine. The last time we requested blood work as it’s really been bothering me. It was all normal so at least I have piece of mind it’s nothing scary. My 6 month old has also been getting a few non blanching spots. My question is, does anyone else have this? Thinking it may be a hereditary trait and that they have fragile capillaries. We’re always told to go to a&e but surely we can’t keep doing that. Between them we’ve gone about 8 times in the last few months which is difficult for the kids and my toddlers been getting anxious there’s something wrong. I just don’t know what to do and when to be really worried. Thanks, an anxious mama

My son gets them now and then, although there's several quite scary illnesses associated with them (like meningitis/leukemia/sepsis) I'm sure they can also appear as a viral response. My son had them alongside a cough once, he did then go on to have a kidney infection so not sure whether it was the infection causing them. He also had them maybe a month ago again alongside a virus/cold. Where are they? My DS seems to get them around his neck.

Yep, my son was awful for getting petechial rashes with zero explanation. He seems to have outgrown them now (certainly not getting as many as he did when he was younger), but we had many worried hours spent in doctors' offices and ED waiting for blood results. Once, he developed a huge petechial rash that covered him from his chin to his groin; he had been at home with me playing and I have no idea why it had come up! I notice he can get them if a shirt rubs / a strap pulls on his arm, but if he is otherwise well, I just monitor it and they tend to disappear after a couple of days.
