Dairy restarting sick bug?

We’ve had a bad summer of sickness bugs and each time they only last a few hours, disappear for 48 hours or thereabouts and then appear again! DD1 was sick Friday night for a few hours, then had some toast Saturday morning which came back up. Now she’s just been sick again in her cot. She had not much of an appetite today but demolished some yoghurt this evening which I’m assuming was a bad idea? She didn’t want toast or anything so I wanted to give her what she wanted. Tomorrow if she won’t eat anything do I leave it and not offer dairy?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

This always happened with my eldest. Seemed to be over it then wanted milk and then he’d sick it all up again. I think we tried toast and rice etc. and slowly introduced dairy again over the next few days. Hope she feels better soon!

Thanks @upintheloft - good to know. Think we will ease of it tomorrow - milk seemed okay but the yoghurt def pushed her over the edge.
tome to reset the 48 hour clock!

Avoid Dairy if you can

Is it just one child? Anyone else poorly?

I think its time for medical intervention if noone else is getting poorly

Bugs can also trigger temporary lactose intolerance

It’s just her and no one else is poorly (yet!).

will definitely keep an eye on her hydration and if continues get her seen if fewer wet nappies etc.

Ended up taking her to A&E to be looked at as she couldn’t keep anything down and got v lethargic. Tested her for UTI etc and everything looks okay so they think viral bug and gut irritated by the dairy. Been tolerating apple juice for a few hours now (doctor’s orders) and not been sick so hoping we are out the other side (for now!) thanks all
