Child breathing issues in throat

Hi all

My child has suffered for a while with tonsils/ ear infections, cough the whole shabang. We are currently waiting on yet another referral for ENT. The last week she has complained about not being able to breathe but not in her chest, in her throat. I took her docs Monday to get her checked and they stated once again he tonsils are large but no infection. I said do you think she needs them out and she said yes. The thing I’m worried about is are they now obstructing her throat that she can’t breathe?

shes never mentioned this previous, which is why I am concerned but the doctor didn’t seem too phased. I’ve been giving her some nurofen and piriton to see if that helps bring any inflammation down, but do I need to call the hospital about this as doc did nothing?

Can they say a whole sentence without having to stop to breathe?

Yeah she’s talking fine and playing with the occasional chesty cough but she’s acting normal. It’s just she will mention several times a day that she can’t breathe in her throat. It’s bizarre!

If you are waiting on the referral already and there is no infection, surely the GP can’t do anything else? Or has she got worse since Monday?

I know, it’s a difficult one, that’s why I’m stuck because I obviously want her to be comfortable but understand about maybe having to wait. The referral was expedited in June as she had 3 ear infections in June alone and it’s almost September and haven’t heard anything from the hospital still. Unsure if I should chase them up, just abit concerning when this new symptom has appeared and she keeps mentioning it :/
