Nhs dentist child cavities

Nhs dentist has been nursing along our daughter teeths which have 3 front cavities and a hole in back tooth (previous dentist couldnt get it filled and refered us privately for specialist under GA) app was 8 weeks away so I tried to find another dentist who would try it quicker to stop the pain and risk of infection. Long story short found 1 and she said it was all manageable even though my daughter couldnt tolerate them looking at her teeth. She got my daughter to apply her own flouride to the front 2 teeth on 2nd visit and no other treatment . Total of 6 visits since January, finally decided to go to the private app that I kept delaying as I thought by now the nhs dentist would atleast have attempted to fill the big hole on the back molar.

Private dentist has found multiple more teeth needing pulled and work done and that is without taking xrays, Im so cross with myself and at the dentist we had been to She said it was crazy to pay private and that the teeth were manageable I dont even know what I want from this post I just feel like its all been sugar coated over to us and apparently community dentist wont take refferals unless there are multiple episodes of infections but we didnt know how bad the issue was

How old is your daughter?

have you asked the private dentist why such a difference of opinion?

also if diet is low in sugar and daughter brushes teeth twice a day you need to be asking the dentist why this happened? Is there a problem causig this?

We struggled with teeth brushing especially at night she has alot of sensory issues and it is my fault I know that. She completely stopped eating fruit and veg 1.5 years ago so I had also been buying smoothies and giving her 1 in the morning and 1 in afternoon to make up for it but I didnt realise until the private dentist told me to look at the sugar content (its 5x what she was supposed to have in a day). She wont take the vitamin gummies and i thought i was doing the best thing but obviously not. She was born 6 weeks early as I had placenta abruption which the private dentist said is mostly to blame.

I’d be more worried about the underlying problem as this is not normal.

Did you mean to use the term “sugar coated”?

So what state are her teeth in at the moment? How old is she?

She needs 5 teeth out and others fixed, the private dentist said they would usually fix the front teeth but as they are now loose but not wobbly after her accident at start of July there isn't any point. She is 6

I know its not normal we are already feeling it at home with the guilt of it all we should have held her down to get them brushed as it did not help along with the other issues

I no longer trust NHS dentist and pay for all my children to go to a fully private dentist ( no NHS patients). As I also find part private part NHS not any good either. They seem to wait for issues instead of preventing them .

Did u have a problem with ur children on nhs?

Not my children but my self , and even my kids noticed a huge difference when they started going private, no rushed 5 mins appointments , and all my children from 20 to 9 all have perfect teeth no fillings nothing .
