Get that checked immediately! Where did you see the midwife? That's 100% infected

Get yourself to a and e.

Id want a doctors opinion on that - and pretty quickly.

Iamacatslave · 12/08/2026 17:40

This needs medical attention ASAP.

nocoolnamesleft · 13/08/2026 22:11

Hope you got checked out. A healthy umbilical stump does not smell.

hellospring26 · 14/08/2026 08:25

I had an infected belly button, I’m nearly 50 and my mum has kept the photos in an album…

anyway looks just like that, hope you get it sorted asap

Has the baby got a temp? Fussy? Eating and drinking normally?

Mayflower282 · 14/08/2026 08:54

Could it be sebaceous fluid, and not pus?

MissMoneyFairy · 14/08/2026 08:54

Please get baby to see a doctor today, that shouldn't smell. Congratulations on your new baby.

Thanks for your replies, the cord bit fell off and I think that was what was smelling really bad. The bellybutton was looking quite pusy but I got it checked by the GP and it’s all fine.
