Possible infected umbilical cord - graphic pic 🤢

Does this look infected to you? I did aske the midwife yesterday and she said as there was t any redness around it it’s not. But it looks very pusy and it smells BAD!

Get that checked immediately! Where did you see the midwife? That's 100% infected

Get yourself to a and e.

Id want a doctors opinion on that - and pretty quickly.

This needs medical attention ASAP.

Hope you got checked out. A healthy umbilical stump does not smell.

Has the baby got a temp? Fussy? Eating and drinking normally?

Could it be sebaceous fluid, and not pus?

Please get baby to see a doctor today, that shouldn't smell. Congratulations on your new baby.

Thanks for your replies, the cord bit fell off and I think that was what was smelling really bad. The bellybutton was looking quite pusy but I got it checked by the GP and it’s all fine.
