Scalp cysts in 13 year old

We found a lump on my son’s scalp last week. It’s hard and doesn’t really move around. It’s at the back on the left. There is a similar, smaller lump on the other side. We went to the GP who was unconcerned and said they were cysts.

He’s just pointed out a third lump, on the same side as the first, a little higher and smaller.

Does anyone have experience of multiple skull cysts. I’m wondering whether I need to take him back to the doctors in light of finding another one.

Thanks

They're really common. My dad had a large one, I’ve got a few and my daughter has too. Only thing you have to look out for is infection, but that’s pretty rare, I had one removed about 25 years ago as it was right at the front of my hairline and obvious.

Thank you so much for replying. I was reassured after seeing the GP but started to feel worried again after finding another one.

It’s reassuring to know they aren’t unusual.
