Help! My daughter has been given carobel to help with her reflux. It’s helped a bit (not choking/gulping and less vomit however she’s got diarrhoea so bad. Having around 8 HUGE wet poops a day (previously 2-3 normal sized poops). Anyone else’s little one have this issue and it settled or did you have to try alternatives? Help or advice appreciated 😩 she’s currently on HIPP organic (changed from kendamil) she’s 3.5 weeks old. Thanks!

Children and especially newborns can become dehydrated so fast. I’d take her to the ER.

There are lots of alternative thickeners if this one doesn’t agree with her, my daughter got on fine with Carobel but also trialed lots of thickeners for various reasons over the years - some are for older children and I don’t remember which so won’t try to recommend but definitely go back to the GP - if you really struggle you could ask for a dieticians input, they are experts.

Has she been tried on gaviscon? Some babies do better on one thickener than another. At that age, probably worth getting checked out.
