The 3-year-old got chickenpox last summer and these marks are still there on her body.

When should they be completely gone?

They won't. They are scars and they will stay. They may fade or reduce down a bit, but they will always be there

They are scars aren’t they? They won’t go but might fade over the years

They may not ever go entirely, CP can and does cause scarring, but they will likely become less obvious with age and time.

My DS had CP at 3 years old. He had loads of scars but they’re barely noticeable now at 12.

I’m 59 and I’ve still got my scars from when I got it when I was 18

I still have a few scars from having chicken pox 30 years ago, but they are not too noticeable. Little craters the same colour as, or a bit paler than, my skin. They don't itch or feel uncomfortable the way some scars can.

I still have some of my CP scars and it’s been 30+ years since I had it.

Never. But they’ll gradually become less noticeable. I still have CP scars from 30 years ago.
