What would cause a bite like this?

I saw this on my toddler’s neck this evening, it wasn’t there this morning. She has played in the garden quite a bit today. It seems like 2 small puncture marks, what could cause a bite like this?

I’d just assume a scratch from something in the garden. If it was a bite from, say a spider, there would be identical sized marks, but one of those is bigger than the other, it just looks like an uneven scratch to me.

Are you in the UK?
I too would think a scratch, possibly from an uneven stick. I wouldn't assume a bite from something. How long is it?

Just check for bedbugs as I believe they bite 2 next to each other … probably isn’t but worth a check
