Hi all,

we have dr appt at 12 but wanted to post in case anyone had experience.
he’s 13 months
a few days ago we noticed a spot on his chest which we thought may be an insect bite, but it’s getting worse. It looks like someone has stumped a cigarette out on him!!!
today he’s woken up with these smaller red spots
from what I can see online the large spot could be impetigo but I’m worried about the others!
any advice would be great x

Impetigo is very infectious, so could he have come into contact with someone infected at e.g. nursery? Very easy to catch, if so. Fortunately, it's also very easy to treat, so try not to worry. Do be very careful with your hygiene though. Don't touch the spots and then touch your own skin - always wash your hands.

Could it be ringworm? Just from your description of the cigarette stubbing out. Easily treated if so with ant fungal cream.

Thanks for your response! He did start nursery 2 months ago so this is possible x

Thanks! I hadn’t thought of that - will mention this to GP x

Just saw the pics (they hadn't loaded earlier). It does look like impetigo to me.
