Fracture surgery - titanium elastic nails

DD11 is scheduled for surgery tomorrow for an unstable arm fracture after she fell on Tuesday.

The doctor on the phone said she would have titanium elastic nails placed during the surgery. I've done a lot of reading and I think I understand the process.

We're due to travel to Europe in 3 weeks for half term to a Center Parcs type place. I had assumed DD will be unable to do all the stuff as she would be in a cast, but the doctor said she could be out of plaster in 2 weeks. I don't know if I misheard this. DD is anxious and wants to know EVERYTHING.

Does anyone have experience of this kind of surgery and the recovery time?

Thanks so much in advance for any input
