I find chickenpox a little confusing, my first born has had it recently but I am still waiting for my 9 month old baby to get it.

So my son first started showing the pox on Sunday 5th April, they are now fully scabbed over and all itching has stopped, but from what I have been told and read he would have also been contagious 2 weeks prior, so the contagious stage has already passed I believe , but can my baby still get it at this stage as I am waiting for the rash but nothing so far! I am shocked if she hasn’t caught it at all as it’s highly contagious and she has been with my son everyday due to it being the summer holidays, but she has dodged all sorts of illnesses… flu, tonsillitis, many colds, her immune system is insane! But I just want to make sure she is also out of the contagious stage so I can start taking her out again.

Yes, my 9 month old had her symptoms appear 2 weeks after my 1 year old’s cleared up.

It's contagious for 1-2 days before spots appear and until they crust over. The incubation period is 10- 21 days though so there's a chance she could still get it. Theres no need to quarantine her until she shows symptoms
