Chicken pox 😩

For those of you who’s children have had chicken pox, how long did it take for their siblings to show up in spots?

my eldest son came home from school on Thursday with a fever and feeling sick, by Friday morning he was absolutely fine! Then Saturday morning the spots appeared. My youngest who is 1 is currently loaded with the cold, chesty cough, runny nose - I’m not sure if this is the start of it or if he just has a cold. I’ve tried to keep them apart but I know the likihood is that youngest will get them anyway. Just trying to juggle this with work, our only help is my mum who has never had chicken pox so doesn’t want to watch them 🫣

It took 2 weeks for spots to start showing on DC2 after DC1 got it.

Had your one year old had the first first of MMRV?

13 days.

My dc are teens now, but when they were little and their friends and nursery mates were getting CP, it seemed to be 11-14 days between siblings.

My son has just got chicken pox. It was going around the nursery about 1-2 weeks ago and his spots appeared on Monday. He had a runny nose for about 3 days before they appeared

15 days between dd and ds getting it
Incubation period is 10- 21 days

The next day....

In one sense it was good as I had it over with in about 7 days.....

Good luck!

I caught them as an adult, no idea how I avoided them until then, but I felt awful with them. DD was two at the time, and caught them from me. It took three weeks for her spots to appear, just as I was going back to work. She was much better; a day or two of being quieter than usual, but otherwise okay. Between the two of us, we were in the house and away from other people for weeks; it was like a trial run for the Covid lockdowns a few years later.

Anyone experienced swollen lymph nodes in their child behind the ear/on their hairline during chicken pox? My little one…
