Taking my toddler to the doctor's tomorrow but I'm worried sick about this mark that turned up a few days ago? Do you think it's impetigo or something sinister?

What is this mark?

It looks like there are other small marks or spots around the main one- could it be that he/she has picked at one and it’s formed a large scab?

Do you know why the spots are there in the first place, do they have a bug at the moment. Or maybe grazes from falling over.

It did start off as a spot and he's said he scratched it. I sent a picture to the doctor and he just sent cream but hasn't seen it in person and I've obviously been googling and now spiralling thinking it's something really sinister.

It looks like a repeatedly picked spot to me. Possibly infected from being picked with dirty hands. Might need antibiotics, and you to make sure your child doesn't pick it anymore.
