How long after the first spot of suspected chickenpox did it take before more spots came out. So far it's been 24 hours and DD still only has one spot.

Has s/he got a temperature? If not perhaps it's not chicken pox? Or maybe you are getting off really lightly 🤞🏻

Yes she had a temp yesterday when i noticed the spot on her back. She has also had a temp today with a runny poo this afternoon and the cough and cold still remain too. But still only the one spot.

Five very, very long days….

Slow burner for my DD, two spots first day, another 2 the next day etc, took about 7 days for them all to come out, as the first ones where crusting over more kept coming up. She didn't have a temp but was unwell in herself for a couple of days

Have you bathed her? That usually brings out all the spots.
