Chickenpox or HFM?

Just looking for opinions for parents who have experienced pox and HFM, I’ve experienced both but pox a very long time ago. My baby’s legs, bum are covered in these spots, some on arms, hands and feet but only a couple on torso, appeared yesterday. GP couldn’t say for sure. No fever; been snotty with a cough but otherwise fine

I would say that's chicken pox. My son had bad HFM, it covered nearly his whole body, except his torso was completely clear. If your child has them on their torso I'd be inclined to say CP. If you give them a warm bath that usually brings out more CP spots.

From the distribution you're describing - mainly bum, legs, hands and feet with barely anything on the torso - that sounds more like HFM to me. Chickenpox usually starts on the chest/torso first and spreads out.

Any spots inside the mouth or on the soles of the feet? That would confirm HFM. Hope the little one feels better soon! 🤞
