What else is there to do? When do I push for more help?

For background 11 month old is full of a cough/cold, plus she has had diarrhoea for the last 4 days now. We're talking explosive at times, completely watery, several an hour type thing. She is so sore and last two nights has barely slept through what I think is discomfort/pain. She is entertaining her milk, giving little and often. Temp reading normal, but she is warm to touch. Will entertain some fluid here and there, not much appetite. She is very grizzly (understandable) and the way she cries is breaking my heart. Her nappies are still wet, although slightly reduced which I suspect is from the illness and not as much intake of fluids.

We're day 4 now, I spoke to the GP who said there isn't much they can do and to just keep doing what we are. Getting to the feeling helpless part as shes clearly in pain and its not getting any better. Because she is still having wet nappies etc there isn't much else we can do is there?

What sort of help do you want to push for? Have her checked over by a GP in case of needing an antibiotic for chest/throat/ears but other than that there is nothing else can be done. Ibuprofen can sometimes be a better and longer lasting pain relief than Calpol is. Where do you think her pain is coming from, tummy, bum, throat?
